Determined environmental policy It is our objective to create and maintain safe and healthy working conditions for all our employees. This is to be achieved by an effort from everyone in the company in a way that builds up and maintains a positive attitude towards the working environment and the immediate external environment. It is in this connection emphasised that the authority to decide the daily safety and environmental questions are delegated to the individual safety groups. Objectives for the influence of the immediate external environment Beyond the fact that SM will comply with the current legislation, the following subsidiary goals apply: •DS SM will observe and maintain the environmental permit. •DS SM will through the use of new technology minimize waste and pollution as much as possible. •DS SM will arrange and maintain production plants in a way so that unintentional environmental disturbances can be   prevented. • DS SM will incorporate environmental considerations in the projecting and planning phase, including the   incorporation of the necessary funds to perform the work safely in respect to the immediate exterior environment.
