Focusing on safe working conditions

It is our goal to create and maintain safe and healthy working conditions for all employees. This is to be achieved by an effort from everyone in the company in a way that builds up and maintains a positive attitude towards the working environment and the immediate exterior environment.

It is in this connection emphasised that the authority to decide the daily safety and environmental questions are delegated to the individual safety groups.

Working environment targets at  DS SM

Beyond the fact that DS SM will comply with the current legislation, the following subsidiary goals apply:
• DS SM will through analysis of near-accidents and accident reports as well as workplace evaluations work
  structured and determined towards preventing work related injuries.

• DS SM will attain a continuous improvement of the accident and absence frequency.

• DS SM will with the supervision of The Danish Working Environment Service determinedly work to obtain and maintain
  an assessment as a level 1 company.

• DS SM will maintain a training model that ensures the necessary training of the staff in regards to safety.
 
• DS SM will maintain a special focus on the fields of activity where the risk of serious injuries is present, with particular
  areas in mind, such as:
- Lifting and handling large materials in cranes
- Pressure test
- Working in heights
- Working with rotating machines
- Working with machines with a crushing hazard

• DS SM will through instruction of new employees ensure that newly employed and young employees in particular are  
  acquainted with the safety rules operative for working at DS SM from the beginning.

• DS SM will not use hazardous chemicals, if the work can be completed in a reasonable fashion by using non-
  hazardous chemicals.

• DS SM will incorporate considerations for the working environment in the projection and planning phase, including the
  incorporation of the funds necessary to perform the work with respect to health and safety.
